Impactivity: Talking Without Limits - Rugby And Mental Health

Well it's that time again! Another Impactivity blog and once again there has been another really positive month over at Impactivity towers!

Firstly we are pleased to announce a partnership with Queen Mary Grammar school in Walsall becoming part of their rugby coaching program and developing training sessions for games sessions and their two senior teams for match days. We are looking forward to seeing what the lads can do over the course of the next season!

On a personal note and keeping with the theme of rugby it has been great for my mental health getting back into training with Aston Old Edwardians and with one league game and one league win under the belt already it'll be nice to put a strong winning run together - mainly for the new after game tradition of singing Country Roads!

Away from the rugby it has been an important month in terms of Mental Health Awareness. September is Suicide Awareness Month and here at Impactivity we are doing all we can to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide to stop people feeling alone and allowing them the freedom to reach out for help.

84 men a week take their own life, with around 75% of all suicides being a male. These stats are alarming and it is time we make reaching out the thing to do and allow positive communication surrounding mental health become the norm before it is to late.

To raise this awareness we are starting to see a demand for our mental health in sport workshops which aims at using sport as the tool to promote conversation surrounding mental health and guiding people to support networks that can help them with their issues. Our first major workshop is with the great people at Sport Coventry and the University of Coventry and we are looking forward to a partnership of helping support the students of the University of the next year.

As always if you are interested in any of our programs please contact me at andyryley@impactivitytwl.com

Yours in wellness,
